Dr. Thomas S. Roukis is board certified, fellowship trained podiatric foot and ankle surgeon specializing in reconstruction, revision, trauma of the foot and ankle, as well as, primary and revision ankle joint replacement.
Dr. Roukis received his DPM degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California and his PhD in Healthcare Education from Rushmore University through distance-based learning. He completed a 3-year Podiatric Medicine & Surgical residency at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin, followed by three fellowships: an AO International Trauma Fellowship in Mainz, Germany; an American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons Division 14 European Foot & Ankle Surgery Fellowship in Germany, France and Switzerland; and a Reconstructive Foot & Ankle Research & Surgery Fellowship at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Dr. Roukis was previously a Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation’s Division of Foot & Ankle Surgery in Jacksonville, Florida where he was also the Associate Director of the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency program. Dr. Roukis was also previously Chief of the Limb Preservation Service in the Vascular/Endovascular Surgery Service at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, where he was also Director of the Limb Preservation Complex Lower Extremity Surgery & Research Fellowship.
Dr. Roukis is Past President (2014-2015) of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and is the Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed specialty journal: Foot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports & Cases (FASTRAC). He has received a myriad of awards and scholarships related to research and clinical expertise in complex foot and ankle surgery and have served as principal or co-investigator on 22 clinical trials and scientific studies. Dr. Roukis holds several United States and European patents for surgical devices he co-designed. He has edited 5 clinics/textbooks on primary, secondary and revision total ankle replacement. He has published over 185 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has given more than 450 oral and poster presentations nationally and internationally.

Dr. Roukis enjoys traveling with his wife Sherri, daughter Averie and son Devon. He has been to all 50 states and has stepped foot on every continent except Antarctica. Dr. Roukis is an avid New York Mets baseball and New Jersey Devils hockey fan.
