AdventHealth Hendersonville Welcomes New Urologist

August 21, 2019 — Hendersonville, NC (August 21, 2019) — AdventHealth Medical Group Urology is excited to welcome Nina Harkhani, MD. Dr. Harkhani brings not only a patient-centered approach to care, but she also has an extensive base of experience in various urological studies. She will provide a diverse inpatient and outpatient care experience for people across the communities of Western North Carolina.

Dr. Harkhani earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and a minor in chemistry from The George Washington University in 2010. In 2014, she obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. In addition, Dr. Harkhani completed her residency in urologic surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in June 2019.

Dr. Harkhani says there is a clear connection between the mission, vision and values of AdventHealth Hendersonville and her personal approach to providing health care. “Everyone I encountered during my visit was warm, welcoming and happy to be working at AdventHealth Hendersonville,” says Dr. Harkhani. “The hospital approaches patient care with a whole-person attitude that aligns with my perspective of health care. I am looking forward to providing urologic care in an environment that is compassionate and patient-centered. I recently learned that AdventHealth Hendersonville coordinates medical missions – I am excited to join as a volunteer urologist to provide care to people around the globe.”

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Harkhani enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking and seeing Broadway plays. She also holds a 1^st Dan (degree) black belt in Taekwondo and has taught, trained and competed in this ancient art. When asked what makes her “feel whole” she responded with, “Being able to spend time with family, be a productive urologist, stay fit and get sleep.
