N.C., — AdventHealth Medical Group Welcomes New Practice to
Network of Whole-Person Care
Feb. 19, 2020, HENDERSONVILLE, N.C., – AdventHealth Hendersonville is expanding access to convenient, comprehensive whole-person care to the Tryon community with the opening of AdventHealth Medical Group Urgent and Family Care at Tryon* on February 17, 2020. This practice brings the exceptional care of Brian Carey, MD, FACEP, and his team at Tryon Urgent and Family Care into the Advent Health Medical Group. Effective February. 17, Dr. Carey will begin seeing patients at AdventHealth Medical Group Urgent and Family Care at Tryon in the same building where his current office is located on Lynn Road in Tryon, N.C.
Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Carey has been providing care for families and people in need of urgent medical care in Tryon since 2005. Prior to that his career spans 30 years of patient care at emergency facilities in Florida, Texas and South Carolina.
Dr. Carey says he wanted to make a difference in the lives of people and becoming a physician was the way for him to do that. “I try to practice the old-school way of having individual interactions and time with patients,” he explains.
Dr. Carey’s commitment to keeping his patients at the center of care led him to reach out to AdventHealth Hendersonville. “Dr. Carey is a kind and caring person who has served the Tryon community for more than 15 years,” says Christy Sneller, AdventHealth Hendersonville Vice President of Physician Services. “He has a tremendous passion for his patients.”
“I was looking for a partner that would help me negotiate the challenges of today’s business market in health care,” adds Dr. Carey. “AdventHealth is the best partner for what I needed as a practitioner. The faith aspect is important and having people who enjoy their work and are positive makes my work more joyful.”
This partnership will allow Dr. Carey and his care team to continue caring for their patients with the addition of the support of AdventHealth and its convenient access to comprehensive health care such as imaging and lab services.
The compassionate drive to care for people is something Dr. Carey shares with his wife of 30 years. She is a nurse and has been his business partner at the office in Tryon. They have three grown children and look forward to their time together sharing meals and celebrating holidays. When he is not caring for patients Dr. Carey enjoys working on construction projects around his home. He says, “Working with your hands and building or fixing things helps me feel whole.”
As he balances his work and personal life, Dr. Carey explains what matters to him is his family, supporting the people around him, and knowing he impacts the lives of his patients for the better. “I like to go home at the end of the day and feel like I did something good – that I really made a difference in somebody’s life.”
Dr. Carey is welcoming new patients at AdventHealth Medical Group Urgent and Family Care at Tryon, located at 3919 Lynn Road, Tryon, N.C. To schedule an appointment, call Call828-859-5600 or visit AdventHealthNC.com.
