WINTER PARK, Fla. – An innovative new health care option is now available for Central Floridians who are 65 and older. Recently, AdventHealth Well 65+ opened two additional permanent offices in Winter Park and Daytona Beach offering exceptional primary care that’s customized to meet the needs and health goals of patients after the age of 65.

Seniors have a wide variety of health care needs, typically requiring longer appointments with their primary care provider. That’s why the average Well 65+ appointment is scheduled for 30 to 60 minutes. These patients’ needs also go beyond physical care, and include social determinants of health, such as the affordability of medication, and issues of emotional and mental well-being. AdventHealth Well 65+ providers work with their care team to deliver whole-person care to the patient.
“AdventHealth Well 65+ was specifically designed to meet the health care needs of patients 65 and older,” said Dr. Robert Rodgers, chief medical officer for AdventHealth Well 65+. “The program allows us to identify our patients’ health concerns upfront and provide them with the resources to better manage their health and do so in a team-based setting with incredible patients access.”
AdventHealth Well 65+ uses a model that puts quality time spent between a doctor and a patient at the forefront. By spending more time with the physician and care team, patients will get more in-depth diagnoses and treatment options, which leads to a better quality of life and less time spent in the hospital.
“The primary care needs of those 65 and older tend to be more complex. As we get older, we have more medical issues that come up. And when this happens, it requires more time to care for those, and it requires a team that has time to get to know the patient better so they can deliver the best care for them.” Rodgers said.

The new offices are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies allowing patients to receive the care they need under one roof. The design and patient experience are unique in the AdventHealth network, with convenient parking directly adjacent to the entry, spacious lobbies filled with natural light, large hallways to easily accommodate wheelchairs and allow a comfortable walking space. In addition, the wellness suites are furnished with exam chairs that are customized to the patients' height, and can calculate their weight. Each wellness suite has a large monitor which displays test results and treatment plans.
The AdventHealth Well 65+ care team includes board-certified physicians, registered nurses, personal health coaches, licensed clinical social workers and care coordinators. Additionally, onsite laboratory tests are available.
Each location has a community room which offers different types of educational classes and activities, so patients can meet with new and old friends.
AdventHealth Well 65+ has locations across Central Florida, including Celebration, Eustis, Daytona Beach and Winter Park. To learn more about AdventHealth Well 65+, visit AdventHealth Well 65+ | AdventHealth Well 65+.
