ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida continues to experience accelerated growth as the fastest-growing state in the nation. AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division remains committed to strengthening its presence and expanding its reach in the communities of Southeast Orlando and Osceola County with the following leadership changes, which take effect June 4.
Doug Harcombe named AdventHealth Lake Nona CEO

In his new role, Harcombe will oversee the operations of the planned hospital at Lake Nona, in addition to continuing to serve as CEO of the South market, leading the development and execution of strategies that support the total network of care in the communities of Southeast Orlando and Osceola County. He will continue to report to Brian Adams, CEO of the Central Florida Division – South Region.
Lake Nona is home to one of the fastest-growing health and life sciences communities in the nation. Expected to start construction this summer, the full-scale hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility that will include a medical office building and will bring new services to this developing community. The hospital becomes part of a growing network that consists of a standalone emergency department on Lake Nona Boulevard, AdventHealth Centra Care and physician practices.
“Doug is a forward-thinking leader whose commitment to improving the health and well-being of Central Florida can be seen throughout the region – from Seminole County to Osceola County,” said Adams. “Doug’s strategic vision, his collaborative approach to health care and his commitment to clinical excellence will serve the community of Lake Nona well as we seek to expand our promise of wholeness across Southeast Orlando.”
Since 2018, Doug Harcombe has served as CEO of AdventHealth Celebration, where he has led strategies for growing and strengthening new and existing services lines and programs, like the cardiovascular and open-heart program and the vascular and thoracic surgery programs, in addition to establishing the Center for Interventional Endoscopy. Harcombe also oversaw multiple construction projects, including the $125 million new patient tower construction at AdventHealth Celebration, the radiation oncology and infusion center, pediatric emergency room, as well as the Palm Parkway and FLAMINGO CROSSINGS Town Center emergency departments.
“Lake Nona is a place where innovation, health, learning and medicine all come together to create a dynamic community,” said Harcombe. “I’m excited AdventHealth is investing in the wellness and growth of this community and making it easier for our consumers to access whole-person care closer to home.”
Harcombe and his wife, Jo Ann, have been married for 27 years and have two adult daughters, Abby and Olivia. In his free time, he enjoys spending time at the beach with his family, playing sports, golfing and participating in mud runs and obstacle course races.
Amanda Maggard named AdventHealth Celebration CEO

Amanda Maggard will join AdventHealth Celebration as CEO on June 4 and will oversee capital investments, service line expansion and quality of care, while continuing to grow AdventHealth’s footprint in Osceola County. She will report to Harcombe.
“I’m thrilled Amanda will be stepping into this role and building on the incredible legacy that’s been started at AdventHealth Celebration,” said Adams. “Amanda is an innovative leader with a unique ability to build mission-driven teams that pursue excellence and consistently strive to meet the needs of the consumers we serve in more meaningful ways.”
Maggard currently serves as president/CEO of AdventHealth Zephyrhills and AdventHealth Dade City, overseeing strategic development and day-to-day operations. She helped to lead the acquisition of AdventHealth Dade City in April 2018 and its subsequent financial and clinical turnaround. Earlier this year, Maggard also took on executive leadership for AdventHealth Connerton, a long-term acute care facility.
Serving most of her career in the Central Florida Division, Maggard has held a variety of leadership roles, including vice president and campus administrator at AdventHealth Winter Garden, where she was instrumental in building support for the 120-bed hospital.
“I’m excited to return to Central Florida and look forward to engaging with the leaders, physicians, team members and the community of Celebration to further expand our mission and strengthen our presence in this community,” said Maggard.
She and her husband, Michael, will be married 19 years this coming June and have two sons, Griffin, 6, and Landry, 9. As a family, they enjoy watching NFL football, traveling, staying active and going to Disney.
