Abigail Brown and Eric Johnston have been named AdventHealth Gordon’s latest SonShine Award recipients.
Brown and Johnston, paramedics at AdventHealth Gordon EMS, received a nomination from their team member who said the following:
“Abigail and Eric responded to a call for a patient who was in destress. EMS was dispatched to the patient’s location, and Eric and Abigail did not hesitate to answer the call. Assessing the situation, they both helped the patient with their needs, which were beyond typical medical care. EMS then received another call to return to the patient’s home, and Abigail and Eric responded again and provided even more assistance. The patient was extremely grateful and thanked them for their help. I’m very proud of the dedication these two have to make this community a better place and the depths they will go to help a patient in need.”
The SonShine Award was established by AdventHealth Murray and AdventHealth Gordon in 2017 to honor the hard work and dedication of its team members. Quarterly awards provide opportunities for patients, visitors and other team members to recognize and reward team members for exceptional accomplishments and demonstrated behaviors that are aligned to the mission, vision and values of AdventHealth.
The recipients of the SonShine award “shine” for the “Son” of God through their warm and comforting care they provide to patients and their fellow team members.
