PALM COAST, Fla., June 17, 2019 — Those who visit the emergency department at AdventHealth Palm Coast will note some fresh new art on the walls. The artists are students at local Flagler County Schools and new artwork is displayed each quarter as part of the hospital’s Art of Healing program.
“This unique art gallery allows us to inspire and comfort those in our emergency room. We know a trip to the emergency department can be stressful, so we hope this special area will provide relief and solace during what could be an overwhelming time,” said Dr. Ron Jimenez, AdventHealth Palm Coast CEO.
“Putting the artwork here in the hospital has given our students the opportunity to have an impact on the healing process,” said Sabrina Crosby, Flagler County Schools administrative coordinator of communications and special projects. “In addition to helping patients, this has a lasting impact on the child or young adult creating and displaying the artwork. This impact can influence them as they make decisions on where they will go in life and how they can benefit humanity. That’s powerful!”
