It does not get much bigger than the summer of 2024 for the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT). The squad starts July by competing in the Copa America Tournament against South America’s top national teams. Team USA ends the month in the 2024 Summer Olympic games with a match against host country France.
One of the physicians keeping the team healthy is Dr. Daryl Osbahr, executive medical director of the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute and chief of orthopaedic surgery for Rothman Orthopaedics Florida. “To be able to be involved in U.S. sports and represent your country, (there) is no greater honor,” said Osbahr.
Dr. Osbahr has been part of the team’s medical staff for more than a decade as both a team orthopedic surgeon and team physician. He says he treats everything from lower extremity injuries to simple medical issues that might send you to your general practitioner.
“You are the doctor. You (have to) be able to provide more care than just orthopedics. You have to be there to provide a host of different pathologies that might present themselves,” said Dr. Osbahr.
Dr. Osbahr shared insight on what it’s like to provide Whole Person care to these world-class athletes with Amy Kaufeldt on FOX 35 Orlando’s Good Day Orlando newscast. Click HERE to watch.
