Kawanna Leath has been named AdventHealth Redmond’s latest Sunflower Award recipient. This award is a compliment of the DAISY Award and recognizes the incredible work done by someone in a non-nursing role that supports the nursing staff.
Leath, an environmental services team member at AdventHealth Redmond, was nominated by a coworker who said the following:
“Kawanna is a huge part of the AdventHealth Redmond Emergency Department. She always goes above and beyond to keep this ED clean and tidy. For example, Kawanna recently came in at 4 am just to make sure our department was clean – even though her scheduled shift is 7 am. This is not the first time she has done this act of service. She also makes it a priority to keep our area smelling great! You always know by the amazing smell in the ED that Kawanna has made her rounds. Things like that go a long way to helping our team and patients feel comfortable. These are just two of many examples of the ways she demonstrates all four of our service standards. Kawanna’s outstanding work and dedication has embodied her as a true member of our team.”
If you or a loved one has been a patient at AdventHealth Redmond and would like to nominate an extraordinary non-nursing team member for the Sunflower Award, please call Call706-802-3713.
