PALM COAST, Fla., June 1, 2020 – Orthopedic surgeons Dr. Antony Denard, Jr. and Dr. Raymond L. Weiand have joined AdventHealth Medical Group.
As AdventHealth Medical Group physicians, Denard and Weiand are part of AdventHealth’s employed group of physicians with more than 300 providers, including 160 primary care doctors and specialists in Volusia, Flagler and Lake counties.
Most recently practicing in Ocala, Florida, Denard and Weiand have joined Dr. Dennis Alter, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon practicing in Flagler County for nearly 30 years.
Denard has returned to the community, as he previously practiced at the Orthopaedic Clinic of Daytona Beach. He specializes in Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery for hip and knee replacements, as well as rotator cuff repair and total knee, shoulder and anterior total hip arthroplasty. Additionally, he provides carpal tunnel release, joint injections and casting and fracture care.
Weiand has nearly 30 years of experience and provides general orthopedic care and surgery, including hand and shoulder surgery, total hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic surgery and fracture repair.
Denard earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Weiand is board-certified and earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital and Kennedy University Medical Hospital in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma and joint reconstruction, as well as a fellowship in trauma at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.
Denard is a member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is fluent in Spanish, Haitian, Creole and French.
Weiand is a member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association and American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
