"Partnering with World Vision to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ"

On March 27, 2023, the first tractor and trailer load of supplies slowly made its way up the mountain to our warehouse. After docking the trailer, the fun began; teams started unloading 32 pallets of supplies that would make a difference in many lives.

This partnership will allow AHM to continue to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ through the distribution of much-needed goods during times of loss, disaster, mission work, or ministering to the less fortunate. The list of goods like new comforter sets, pillows, socks, cookware, fans, utensils, and lamps is exhaustive. The donated items include name-brand items such as Kohler, Revlon, Huggies, Harry's, Kirkland, Ninja, Bombas, and many others.

These donations have benefited 18 volunteer fire departments in Clay, Jackson, and Owsley Counties. Our local fire departments constantly battle forest fires and provide rescue and traffic control during automobile accidents. The brand-new battery-powered 80 Volt Greenworks blowers will allow much safer and quicker cleanup of glass and oil, dry and blow dry vegetation during a forest fire.

The Volunteers of America disturbed Easter Baskets composed of health and beauty, personal hygiene items, and household goods from the donated items.

David Watson, Director of Engineering at AHM, shared, "Less than a week after receiving our first load, we were contacted by a retired couple that lost all they owned in a house fire. This couple was from a neighboring county and had been told that the 'hospital in Manchester' could help them. I could hear the apprehension in their voice when they called to ask for assistance. They could not believe that a hospital was helping others in this manner."

This new partnership will allow AHM to branch out even farther into our region, supporting other wonderful partners that also provide healing, nourishment, home repair, disaster recovery, and hope in an uncertain time.
