Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, has joined AdventHealth, one of the largest faith-based health systems in the U.S. The purchase includes the 230-bed hospital, as well as its related businesses, physician clinic operations, outpatient services and all issued and outstanding equity interests. AdventHealth is also welcoming more than 1,500 new employees into the organization, and more than a dozen providers who will be part of the AdventHealth Medical Group.
“We are blessed to have the opportunity to serve this community and look forward to offering whole-person care to more people through this outstanding facility,” said Terry Shaw, president/CEO for AdventHealth.
Redmond Regional Medical Center will join the health system’s Southeast Region, which includes AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in northwest Georgia, AdventHealth Hendersonville in North Carolina and AdventHealth Manchester in Kentucky.
Mike Murrill, president and CEO for the Southeast Region of AdventHealth, will also lead Redmond Regional Medical Center as president and CEO. Murrill had been serving as president and CEO for AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray and has worked for AdventHealth for nearly 20 years in progressive finance and leadership roles.
“Redmond Regional Medical Center is a high-performing hospital with long-tenured leaders, team members and physicians who care deeply about this community,” said Murrill. “I look forward to building on the facility’s legacy of clinical excellence, being active partners in the community and working with this team to care for our neighbors for years to come.”
AdventHealth plans to rename the facility AdventHealth Redmond in January 2022.
