Eric Snowden, MD

Eric Snowden, MD, MS, is a Board-certified pulmonologist with AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology at Shawnee Mission. Dr. Snowden provides the full spectrum of pulmonary care for adult patients at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

As a pulmonary and critical care physician, Dr. Snowden believes in treating every patient with the same care and dedication he would offer to a family member. He focuses on delivering personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and circumstances, always aiming to enhance outcomes and improve quality of life. Combining medical excellence with compassionate, patient-centered care, his goal is to ensure that every individual feels heard, supported, and empowered in their health journey.

Dr. Snowden's clinical interests include advanced bronchoscopy, lung cancer screening, ARDS, interstitial lung disease, point of care ultrasound in the ICU and pulmonary fibrosis.

After earning his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies, Dr. Snowden went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Detroit Medical Center-Michigan State University. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Henry Ford Hospital. Throughout his training and early career, he held a number of leadership roles, including Chief Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellow at Henry Ford Hospital, Chief Internal Medicine Resident at Detroit Medical Center-Michigan State University, and team captain of the University of Kansas baseball team. He also has earned numerous honors, including Resident of the Year and the Nursing Collaboration Award, both at Detroit Medical Center, and Jayhawk Scholar Athlete at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Snowden is Board-certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. He welcomes new patients, ages 18 and older.

In his free time, Dr. Snowden enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, creating lasting memories with family; cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and all Kansas City and Detroit sports teams; exploring new destinations through travel; and playing golf.
